This is going to sound a tad arrogant, but writing comes fairly easily to me.

Maintaining a blog? Well that’s an entirely different story?

There have been numerous starts and stops for me with this one and I’m not promising that circle won’t continue in the future – but I take a certain amount of comfort in knowing that I am taking up the torch yet again and pushing forward.

Whether I want to deny it or not I’m a writer. That is something that has long been true for me, and I don’t see that ever changing.

I’m not even sorry.

Even if I am not physically writing something, I am always writing something in my head. The images and stories are playing themselves out, making absolutely no sense in some cases, but revealing themselves to me as they see fit. In some cases, they are nothing more than passing notions, jumping to the forefront to signal their existence, only to return to the background until such time that I know what to do with them.

Some just hang out in the forefront, pushing me forward to keep fleshing them out, thinking them through until I am compelled to start moving on to the next stage….

The fun stage. The writing.

But want to write isn’t necessarily enough these days, and we have to add something else into the mix. We have to think about the marketing and branding – which is (and continues to be) my greatest weakness. I’ve never been one for selling my strong points to anyone, but I am realizing more and more that if I don’t hype myself I certainly can’t expect anyone else to do it for me.

I know who I am. I know what I can offer. I know the stories in my head and I am the only one who can share them.

The characters in the stories are yelling me – all of them. The ones hanging in the forefront. The ones that are bold enough to step forward. 

The ones who are ready for their story to be shared with more people than me.

I think it’s time to pull some of these bits of paper with words on out of the drawer…

I think – no wait – I KNOW I’m ready.

Look out world. The writer is back in town, and she’s not taking no for an answer this time…
